The developer makes the game, the publisher funds it, releases it and sets the price. Sometimes they are the same company, more often they are not, and then the studio has no say in what its game costs or when it goes on sale. So a list of ChessBase titles can span very different pricing policies: that is decided by whoever published, not by whoever built it.

A list of one developer's games reads differently from a genre list. A genre tells you what you are playing, a studio tells you how it is made: the same solutions, the same difficulty curve, the same way of telling a story come back between titles. A large production rarely comes from one place. Companies also rename after an acquisition, so older and newer titles from the same team sit under two separate entries. The ChessBase list therefore shows what the data credits, not the full share of the work.

Not necessarily, because price is set by the publisher, not the studio. An older title from the same team can hold a higher price than a newer one, if a different publisher handled it or if the newer one reached discounts sooner. The price history on each entry shows how low that title has gone before, which is a better reference point than the release date.
