(^_^) Welcome back to the millennium. Rewind, power on, enter the pixel universe.
Y2Kmeter is a retro-futuristic, pixel-styled professional audio analysis software — and even if you're not an audio professional, it doubles as a gorgeous desktop decoration. It pairs a pink pixel aesthetic inspired by late-1990s and early-2000s desktop interfaces with a full suite of industry-standard audio metering and analysis tools. It runs standalone: launch it and it immediately begins analyzing the incoming audio signal.
Everything you play gets turned into visible pixels: loudness, frequency, phase, dynamics… plus a virtual pet that lives on your music.

♡ Professional Metering Core
Loudness meter — ITU-R BS.1770-4 compliant, with LUFS-M (momentary) / LUFS-S (short-term) / LUFS-I (integrated) readings.
Stereo level meters — RMS L/R alongside True Peak L/R.
Phase correlator — correlation, width, balance, plus a Goniometer Lissajous display for stereo imaging.
Dynamic range — peak, RMS, crest factor, short-term DR, integrated DR.
Spectrum analyzer — logarithmic 20 Hz–20 kHz axis, dual FFT (2048 main + 8192 low band), razor-sharp low-frequency detail.
Spectrogram — pixel-tile waterfall, plus a Spectrogram 3D view.
Stereo oscilloscope — Waveform / X-Y / Lissajous modes.
Stereo Field radar — a semicircular imaging indicator showing source position and intensity.
Analog VU meter — retro dashboard readout.
Scrolling waveform — a continuously rolling waveform display, with pitch tinting and sibilance highlighting.
Tempo & key — real-time BPM readout and musical key estimation from the live signal.
Recorder — captures the pre-gain input as 32-bit float WAV, with one-hour continuous takes and a rolling 60-second export.
♡ Signature Modules
Desktop virtual pet — driven by your audio, with states for hatching, feeding, sleeping, sickness, and farewell. It responds to your music in real time.
Milkdrop visuals — 9,921 built-in presets on a libprojectM engine, rendering stunning real-time visuals from your audio. On top of that, a wealth of customization options across four real-time control panels: COLOR (RGB additive offset & brightness), EFFECTS (38 post-processing effects — kaleidoscope, VHS glitch, CRT scanlines, neon glow), WAVE (16 waveform shapes + 7 parameters + 4 toggles), and TWEAK (geometric distortion & kaleidoscope symmetry).
Fuse-bead pixel art — drop in any image to generate bead art and set it as your desktop background.
♡ Toybox — poke everything
Every module is a toy: poke the spectrum, slap the level meters, flick the stereo field. Each of the 19 modules answers with its own reaction and a live readout bubble drawn from real analysis data.
A workspace-wide particle canvas with mouse force fields, combo chains, emoji bursts and wall bounces, capped so it stays smooth.
Four intensity levels — OFF / CHILL / NORMAL / PARTY — cycled from the TOY button in the toolbar and saved with your layout.
♡ Themes · Layout
Theme system — multiple color presets, defaulting to the Black Pink pixel theme.
Palette Studio — an OKLCH-based generator that builds a full, readable scheme from a single seed color, with its own saved theme library.
Freeform workspace — drag-and-drop arrangement of all modules, with persistent layout presets (save / load).
Window modes — full chrome, hidden chrome and a slim Stick strip layout, plus pseudo-fullscreen that is restored on the next launch.
