What is DUSTWIRE?
DUSTWIRE is a co-op PvPvE extraction shooter for squads of one to three. Drop into Wirehaven - a bright, overgrown city that the machines took over - grab what you can, and get out alive before the machines, or another squad, get you first. We didn't want another grey military shooter. DUSTWIRE is colorful, a little strange and full of personality: flower fields under hunter drones, massive machines walking where they don't belong, and moments of real tension immediately followed by your friend doing something incredibly stupid.
Every raid is a risk
- Deploy into Wirehaven solo, as a duo or as a squad of three.
- Loot weapons, ammo, armor and supplies from the streets, buildings and fallen players.
- Call extraction and survive until you are out. Die, and the gear you carried in is gone.
- Protect one item (not a weapon) in your Safe Pocket - choose wisely.
Machines that hunt you
- Hunter drones scan the streets and call in reinforcements.
- Spider swarms rush you through the trees.
- Machine bosses with their own attacks: the Executor and its rocket salvos, the MechSpider and its laser, the Purger, the Suppressor.
Other players are the real threat
Every squad in the raid wants the same loot. Ambush them in the corridors, snipe them from across the block, take their gear - and then make it to extraction with it.Move fast, gear up, look good
- Ziplines and jump pads to cross the city - or escape it.
- Assault rifles, pistols and sniper rifles with sights, magazines and muzzles to fit.
- Outfits, headwear, facewear and accessories to make your character yours.
- Craft supplies between raids.
Two brothers. One game.
DUSTWIRE is made by Strange Picnic - which is just the two of us. No giant office, no army of producers, no hundreds of developers behind the curtain. We grew up loving games and one day asked the dangerous question: "What if we made one ourselves?" Not the small, sensible first project everyone recommends - a real world you could get lost in.
Every system in the game has gone through the two of us: gameplay, weapons, enemies, bosses, networking, UI, sound, lighting, testing, even the trailers. We use great tools and assets where they help us move faster, but someone still has to turn all those pieces into one game. For DUSTWIRE, that's us.
We can't outspend the big studios, so we try to out-care them. If something feels generic, we rebuild it - sometimes throwing away days or weeks of work. It hurts. Then the game gets better.
Worlds under pressure
DUSTWIRE is in active development and we test it with real players all the time. If you want to help, the best thing you can do is simple: wishlist the game, tell a friend, and come tell us what you think. Complain about weapon balance. Fall in love with one gun and demand we never nerf it. It matters more than you'd think.Bring your friends. Things are about to get weird.
