About Electroknight

Electroknight - about the game

Electroknight is a physics-based Action RPG set in a medieval world populated by robots. Players take on the role of a second-hand automaton navigating a tournament circuit while managing limited resources to eventually buy back ownership of their own core.

Gameplay

Combat relies entirely on physics simulation. Strikes transfer force based on weapon weight, strike angle, and the armour or frame they connect with. A solid hit can dislodge pieces of armour, deform the underlying structure, or sever limbs entirely. As protection falls away, internal damage becomes visible, giving both the player and opponents clear feedback on structural integrity during exchanges.

The protagonist began life as a training automaton at a fencing school. After the school closed, a junk dealer repurposed the functional core into the cheapest available body and set a flat price of 700 coppers for its return. No interest accrues and no deadline exists, yet the body itself has an unknown lifespan. Every tournament payout, repair bill, and equipment purchase draws from the same pool of funds needed to secure freedom.

Opponents maintain their own records. They enter the same circuit, upgrade or replace parts, retire, or end up scrapped. Repeated encounters carry memory of prior bouts, influencing how future matches unfold.

Game Modes

The experience centers on a single-player loop of tournament participation and overland travel. Players select routes between towns, balancing the risks of bandit encounters and tolls against potential earnings from fights or trade. Work opportunities along the roads provide additional income, while tournament brackets offer the largest rewards for successful combatants.

Each tournament match pits the player against other entrants who have followed their own paths of equipment changes and career progression. Between events, resource management determines whether to invest in armour, weapons, spare parts, or repairs, all while tracking the accumulating coppers toward the core purchase.

Exploration and Progression

Travel occurs along shared roads where caravans, toll gates, and bandits create variable encounters. Players decide what cargo to carry for trade, which jobs to accept, and which tournaments to target next. The economy ties every decision together: winnings fund both immediate survival and the long-term goal of ownership.

Progression emerges through accumulated funds, improved equipment, and repeated exposure to familiar opponents. Visible damage states and physics outcomes make each fight distinct, while the persistent world of other competitors adds continuity across sessions.

Is It Worth Playing?

Electroknight suits players who enjoy deliberate, physics-driven combat systems and resource-constrained progression in an indie Action RPG framework. The core loop of tournament fighting, route planning, and careful spending creates a focused single-player experience without additional modes or multiplayer elements. Because the game remains in development with a coming-soon release date and no user reviews available yet, prospective players should monitor updates from the developer for final confirmation of features and balance. Those drawn to visible structural damage, opponent persistence, and an economy that directly links combat earnings to personal freedom will find the described systems align closely with that interest.
