Go Jace FPS is a retro 2.5D arena boomer shooter built for fast movement and direct combat on compact medieval maps. The game runs on Unreal Engine and blends classic FPS pacing with modern features such as readable item placement, host-configurable rules, and LAN multiplayer support. Players focus on learning routes, controlling pickups, and engaging opponents in short, aggressive fights where positioning and timing decide outcomes.
Gameplay
Core combat revolves around three weapons currently available: the shotgun for close-range power, the Sub MG for sustained fire, and fists for immediate melee options. Health, armor, shells, 9mm ammo, weapon pickups, Quad Power, and The Ring appear at fixed locations around each arena. Item respawn times adjust through lobby settings, which lets hosts create matches with or without powerups. Survival depends on aim, efficient routing, and deciding when to push for items or retreat to safety. Keyboard and mouse or Xbox controller inputs work with adjustable sensitivity, aim assist, field of view, and other options. Graphics settings include resolution, quality presets, frame rate caps, and upscaling technologies such as DLSS and FSR with frame generation on supported hardware.
Game Modes
The current build supports solo play, co-op, Horde Mode, and LAN multiplayer through listen-server hosting. In-game lobbies allow map selection, team configuration, bot addition, ready checks, map voting, and rule adjustments before matches begin. Match types include Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Hardcore Free For All, Hardcore Team Deathmatch, Co-op, and Horde Mode. Hardcore variants increase difficulty and may enable friendly fire. Bots fill lobbies or provide solo practice with four difficulty levels and two AI styles. Horde Mode runs as a wave-based survival experience where players face growing enemy groups, collect resources, and apply upgrades between waves. Outfit item improvements and special powers earned during runs add progression layers that alter crowd control and recovery options.
Maps and Progression
Multiple arenas emphasize quick encounters and clear sightlines. Current maps feature medieval settings such as Krvava Rotunda, Grajska Dvorana, Dungeon Arena, Veliki Trg, Fire Pit, and Arena 3-Lane alongside shipment-style layouts like Shipment Simple and Shipment 1519. Each design prioritizes pickup routes and tight combat spaces. A local player profile tracks lifetime stats including kills, deaths, assists, wins, losses, multikills, and kill streaks. Additional systems cover match results, achievements, chat, kill feed, death recap, scoreboard views, spectator mode, and post-match summaries.
Is It Worth Playing?
Go Jace FPS targets players who enjoy classic arena shooters that reward map knowledge and item control over large-scale campaigns. The Early Access version already includes the core loop of fast solo runs, co-op sessions, bot matches, and LAN battles with configurable rules. No user reviews exist yet because the game remains listed as coming soon. Those interested in retro 2.5D FPS combat with modern conveniences such as controller support and performance options may find value in following its development through the planned content expansions. The focus stays on arena deathmatch and survival modes rather than story or open-world elements.
