About Hours 2–4: Dead City Protocol

Hours 2–4: Dead City Protocol - about the game
Lore

Infected.

Man made by government forces, Rabid angry packs of infected ready to run at you & anything around it to feast.

They only lurk in the shadows, coming out later in the evening and fully roaming at night.

Fast, violent infected driven by a nerve-burning pathogen. They sprint, swarm, and overwhelm. They don’t feel painβ€”and they don’t stay down unless you put them down.

Key Features:

  • Dismemberment in the arms & legs. if no legs they will crawl.

  • AI Perception Sight & Hearing

  • High Health to Very High Health, Deal Moderate Damage

  • Will attack all NPCs & dont strictly target the player, you will be able to see other NPCs Fall.

  • Enemy Force

Federal Government.

From higher ups who made the outbreak, looking to silence the state/city it is in and everyone who is caught in it with no witnesses & orders to shoot to kill civilians & local & state government, striking a little civil war with a state cut off from rest of country.

Take on Federal Government Strike Force Teams that will assault you and other local & state authorities positions, they are packed with high health and damage so be careful.

Key Features:

  • AI Perception Sight & Hearing

  • High Health, Deal Moderate Damage

  • Can take Cover & reload & maneuver around map to its best ability to take targets out

  • Will attack Opposing NPCs Including Infected & dont strictly target the player, you will be able to see other NPCs Fall.

  • Enemy Force

What the Game Offers

Levels

There are currently 7 levels set in the City firebombed continuously by the Federal Government, with the local police & state national guard holding onto their final hopes of survival fighting a losing battle against all odds, beaten up, weakened with limited supplies and first to respond to the Outbreak, to protect what remains, & civilians caught in the line of fire.Β

You take on as a regular beat patrol officer, Swat team member, National Guard member in some of the levels, this is the early hours of the Outbreak, What they dont show in movies & video games, the first response in the outbreak or early hours of it and how the police and army "tried" to contain the Outbreak but with a twist of having to fend off opposing human enemies as well. To remind you, you are not destined to survive, being outgunned, outnumbered, nobody was trained for this, you are not destined to survive, these are the moments early in the outbreak but we know everyone that is around you will not be alive or have hidden or formed a different group then the world will be post apocalyptic. This is the Pre Apocalypse, my favorite as i like the Concept of the Response of the Outbreak etc.

This is kind of the Story & Campaign of the game but is in the works and expand on it further in future with objectives and things to do as such, as of now i have it set, the level design and npcs placed etc. It plays as a template for what is to come in the future but as of now I've been focusing on the Wave Mode & Optimizations & would want to expand further with more & more Levels same as for the Wave Mode.

Key Features:

  • 7 Levels

  • Some simple Objectives

  • Atmosphere as there is audio of jet fly by's, bombs, sirens etc.

  • Survive.

NPCs

With Civilians, to Police, to National Guardsman, to Federal Government Forces, Infected & Swat Team Members.

They fill the world to not make it seem like you are alone.

Watch them battle it out, help your officers, save civilians, fight federal forces & Infected.

Key Features:

  • AI Perception Sight & Hearing

  • Height.Β I have in mind & it is in game that all NPCs should not be the same height, you will see some short, some tall NPCs, & that even goes for the Infected as well as federal government, ALL NPCs, & it kind of makes the world feel more better and alive instead of everyone being a certain set Height.

  • Made with love & thought as Swat & Police, Civilians & National Guard are a team against Infected & Federal Government Strike Team. So they will attack with that in mind

  • Infected will attack everyone as they are not set to a specific team or npc

  • Watch as even national guard & swat or police battle against the federal government with shooting each other & even have the infected in mix.

  • Swat & Police & Civilians are Friendly Forces

  • Swat & Police & Civilians are really low on health - medium health & deal medium damage to low damage. They are tired & weakened throughout the hours especially having to battle with the federal government before the infected come out so the federal government intend on weakening the local police and national guard force in the day and let the infected deal with the aftermath of that during the night & suprise suprise the evening as well, their will be infected in buildings as they hide cause they cant come out but don't count them out as they are there even when there is a little light!

WAVE MODE

I am a Fanatic for Waves/Horde/Survival Modes, Inspired by other video games.

My Main Focus is this Mode for its Functionality & Replayability, it is not perfect & is in the works but i cant wait to see a finished Product cause the Concept is amazing to me.

Key Features:

  • Infinite Waves of Infected (planning on in future future to make it humans but thats one day hopefully)

  • Earn Currency Killing Infected

  • Earn Currency when round ends

  • Support Buy Shop. Be able to Call in for Backup (NPCs that assist you or distract the enemies for you) when you have a certain amount of currency, whether that is a Swat Team or National Guard)

  • Weapon Buy Shop

  • More Planned

Game Development

I am a Single Developer for this game so not everything is going to be Perfect & will be bugs etc.

I have a life & am a normal human being like any other person & that can delay future updates or anything if anything were to happen.Β

I am pretty Satisfied with the Project that i have & cant beleive it has come to a almost Early Access release, & that would not have happened without Jakub W IWALS (Interactive Advanced Locomotion System) project, so Credit to Him, This project is using IWALS & not AGLS after playing around with AGLS & IWALS & went with IWALS, it has saved me time from mostly everything that is included in the game with NPCs, Third Person Shooting etc.

I have never Developed a game so keep that in mind & i hope to see a full release of this game one day & even port to Consoles if it ever gets that far just to expand the play area for people so its not strictly PC.
