You might access exchanges any time and they provide exchanging X amount of pawns for a singular piece of higher rarity (for example 3 pawns for 1 bishop). In this game there is no checkmate nor stalemate, you fight until the other king dies and then you claim his kingdom so choose wisely and you might just get another kingdom.
