About Project Techtonic

Project Techtonic - about the game

Project Techtonic is a co-op adventure game developed for PC in which players control repurposed CRT robots known as E.D.G.A.R. The robots explore ancient temples and forgotten tombs to recover treasures and preserve history. Up to four players work together in online sessions that emphasize teamwork, problem solving, and resource management across procedurally generated environments.

Gameplay

Teams skydive onto islands that feature different biomes before navigating harsh terrain and unpredictable weather. The core loop centers on pushing deeper into randomly generated temples where puzzles and traps increase in difficulty. Players climb surfaces, avoid hazards, and gather as many relics as possible while coordinating movements and actions.

Robot construction allows parts to detach, be thrown, or break during play. Salvaged scrap repairs damage, or teammates can share components. When health drops low, a fallen robot can enter Briefcase Mode so another player carries it to safety. These systems encourage creative problem solving and quick adaptation during expeditions.

Collected funds and materials fund equipment upgrades that alter how future runs feel. Character customization options let players adjust their robots before each outing. The loop repeats with fresh layouts each time, rewarding repeated play through new discoveries and improved gear.

Game Modes

The primary experience is online co-op for up to four players. Expeditions unfold in shared sessions where all participants contribute to navigation, puzzle solving, and treasure collection. Random generation ensures no two runs follow the same path, and difficulty scales with depth.

Single-player attempts are possible but the design highlights group coordination. Briefcase Mode and part swapping function in both solo and group play, though the mechanics shine brightest when friends assist one another. No separate competitive or versus modes appear in the current description of the title.

Exploration and Progression

Islands vary by biome, offering distinct visual and navigational challenges alongside the temples themselves. Harsh weather and rough terrain force players to adapt routes and timing. Climbing forms a key traversal tool that interacts with the detachable parts system for creative shortcuts or rescues.

Upgrades purchased between expeditions expand capabilities and introduce new ways to handle traps or carry more loot. The progression feeds directly into the museum feature, where recovered items populate exhibits. Players can revisit their collection to review past successes and uncover any lingering secrets tied to specific relics.

Is It Worth Playing?

Project Techtonic suits players who enjoy cooperative exploration and light puzzle solving with a distinctive robot maintenance twist. The random temple layouts and part-swapping mechanics provide replay value for groups that like experimenting with different strategies each session. Those seeking a focused co-op adventure without complex progression trees or competitive elements will find the described systems align well with that preference. Availability on PC makes it accessible once the title reaches release.
