About SCRAPFLUX

SCRAPFLUX - about the game

SCRAPFLUX is a single-player top-down arcade shooter developed for PC. Players control a small salvage robot that uses a magnet to gather scrap metal and turn it into both ammunition and currency in an industrial setting filled with hostile machines.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on the magnet mechanic. Hold the magnet to draw in nearby metal scraps, then release to hurl the collected material at enemies. Movement and aiming operate independently, allowing players to strafe in one direction while targeting threats in another. This setup encourages careful positioning around solid obstacles, conveyor belts, and active machinery that fill the industrial halls.

Scrap serves dual purposes. It functions as projectile ammunition for attacks, but players can also deposit it at extractors scattered through the levels to earn credits. These credits fund repairs, shield replenishment, and upgrades at service stations visited between waves. Carrying more scrap increases attack power at the cost of reduced movement speed, creating ongoing decisions about when to fight and when to bank resources. Upgrades and credits persist across the campaign maps.

Combat involves dodging enemy projectiles and using the environment for cover or advantage. The robot starts with basic capabilities that expand through purchased equipment and magnet enhancements.

Game Modes

The 12-map campaign forms the main experience. Players progress from the scrapyard through increasingly complex industrial complexes, encountering 12 distinct boss models. Each boss features unique attack patterns, and defeated bosses reappear as minibosses in later stages. Between waves, the service station offers opportunities to repair, restock shields, acquire tactical items, and improve abilities.

Survival mode provides an alternative endless challenge. Select any campaign map already unlocked and begin with a basic robot configuration. Enemy waves intensify over time, introducing new types and culminating in a boss encounter every fifth wave. Players purchase equipment and assemble custom upgrade combinations to extend runs and surpass personal bests.

Four difficulty levels adjust the overall challenge, with separate campaign progress tracked for each setting. Controls support both keyboard and mouse or a game controller.

Progression and Upgrades

Credits earned from deposited scrap allow incremental improvements to the magnet, movement, and defensive systems. Tactical equipment purchased at stations adds variety to combat approaches without altering the fundamental magnet-based gameplay. The carry-over of resources and upgrades between campaign maps rewards consistent play and strategic spending decisions.

Environmental elements such as working machinery and conveyor belts influence both navigation and combat opportunities across the 12 maps. The structure emphasizes survival through waves while managing limited resources in confined industrial spaces.

Is It Worth Playing?

SCRAPFLUX suits players who enjoy top-down arcade shooters with resource management elements. The magnet system creates a distinctive loop that blends collection, combat, and decision-making about ammunition versus currency. The campaign delivers structured progression across 12 maps with recurring boss encounters, while Survival mode supports repeated attempts to refine strategies and chase higher scores.

Four difficulty options and separate progress tracking accommodate different experience levels. The game runs on PC with support for keyboard and mouse or controller input, and interface text is available in 15 languages. As a single-player title focused on these mechanics, it appeals to those seeking concise arcade-style sessions rather than open-world exploration or multiplayer features.

With its release scheduled for December 2026, the game remains in a pre-launch state with no player reviews available yet. Those drawn to precise aiming, environmental interaction, and upgrade-driven runs may find the systems engaging once it becomes available.
