Each level's gameplay is broken down into multiple sections, allowing you to retry each segment, giving you a margin of error to achieve your perfect run and best score without pressure or frustration! The controls are easy to grasp, a bunch of tools are available to the player to help them improve easily, and every level is designed to be satisfying and fun to play, all while maintaining a certain level of difficulty.
Worried you won’t measure up? No worries! In this game, you set your own goals, allowing for difficulty tailored to you. The game will only require you to surpass a small score objective based on player feedback, the bare minimum to progress in the adventure and get to grips with the game (and offers several adjustable difficulty settings). But every effort is rewarded, whether it's achieving an excellent score, completing a run without dying, or finishing bonus challenges. Super Jetboy World actually perfects the formula of its predecessor, simply "Super Jetboy" (or "Super Jetboy Legacy") created in 2 days for the first edition of the SpeedJam, a game jam focused on score-chasing and speedrunning. With the experience gained since then, the power of the Godot engine, and no time constraints, Super Jetboy World delivers a superior experience, succeeding where the first game fell short, while keeping its soul and iconic theme that you'll soon hear. Super Jetboy World also draws inspiration from top speedrun and 2D platformer titles like Super Meatboy, Celeste, and Pizza Tower, aiming to deliver an experience close to these amazing games, for free.
