A village that lives on your desktop
Townlet is a tiny pixel-art village that lives in a thin strip just above your Windows taskbar. It only shows when your desktop does, never steals focus and never pops up notifications. Seven-pixel villagers chop wood, hammer at the forge, gossip in the square and head home when night falls, while you get on with your day.
Your trash is their treasure
Every time you delete a file, it drops into the village from the sky. The villagers carry it to the square, study it and turn it into knowledge. Pictures inspire artists, documents fill the scribe's shelves, music brings minstrels to town. Discoveries unlock new buildings, decorations and events, so no two villages grow the same way. Townlet never opens, moves or deletes your files. It only notices what kind of file landed in the Recycle Bin and how big it was. Nothing ever leaves your computer.
From campfire to walled town
Start with a single campfire and grow through village, town and city into a walled town with its own castle
Real seasons and a real day-night cycle: blossoms in spring, snow in winter, lantern light at night
Rain, storms, fog and starry skies
Markets, fairs, a town crier with the news, travelling minstrels and many small surprises
Pick up a villager and drop them somewhere else, just to see what they say
Decorate the village your way and design its banner
Keep a village ledger of your discoveries, history and the events you've seen
Take a picture of your village and share it
Calm by design
Nothing ever goes wrong in Townlet. No deaths, no famine, no fires, no lost progress. The village only ever grows. A soft seasonal soundtrack plays while your desktop is in view, and the village quietly fades out the moment you open a full-screen window.
