TryTakeMe - about the game

TryTakeMe is a casual singleplayer game for PC that places players inside an infected computer desktop. The setup begins with a machine left running for months to mine cryptocurrency, its wallet holding the earnings on the same drive with no seed phrase recorded. When the system freezes and artifacts appear, Lilith emerges and claims 92 percent of the processing power, leaving the player with the remaining 8 percent and access only through a terminal interface.

Gameplay

The core loop revolves around command-line interaction within the compromised desktop environment. Windows, processes, and files appear on screen as the viruses operate independently. Players issue commands through the terminal to manage resources and respond to events. Lilith initiates the takeover, after which five additional viruses join the system. Each virus maintains its own personality and communication style while drawing on the limited power allocation.

Resource management replaces traditional health or lives. Successful progress through chapters returns portions of the machine's capacity to the player. Errors in decision-making allow a virus to remain active permanently, steadily consuming the available share until the conclusion. The experience stays confined to the desktop screen, with no external exploration or character movement outside the interface.

Game Modes

The primary experience follows a linear narrative divided into chapters. Seven mini-games integrate directly into the story progression, testing judgment and timing through terminal-based challenges. An additional four mini-games sit in a separate collection tab for standalone play. No competitive or multiplayer modes exist; the entire session remains singleplayer and focused on the desktop simulation.

Three distinct endings result solely from the pattern of mistakes made during play. The outcome depends on how many viruses retain permanent residency and the cumulative effect on system resources.

Story and Characters

Six distinct viruses drive the narrative through their individual voices and behaviors. Mira, Iris, Nora, Vera, Della, and Reva each occupy a specific role within the system and interact with the player via text exchanges. Their presence shapes resource demands and influences the available choices at key moments. The story unfolds entirely through these conversations and the visible effects on the desktop processes.

Visuals and Audio

Thirty illustrations accompany the narrative and populate a gallery accessible after completion. Fifteen original music tracks play throughout the sessions, supporting the atmosphere of an active, contested operating system. The presentation emphasizes the desktop environment with windows, error artifacts, and terminal output rather than rendered 3D spaces or external locations.

Is It Worth Playing?

TryTakeMe suits players who enjoy text-driven narrative experiences and resource management puzzles presented through a command-line and desktop interface. The power allocation system creates ongoing tension as each chapter decision affects the final state of the machine. Those interested in short, focused sessions with multiple endings based on performance will find the structure rewarding. The integrated mini-games and separate collection provide variety without extending playtime excessively. Availability on PC makes it accessible for anyone comfortable with terminal-style interaction and visual novel elements combined with light puzzle mechanics.
