About Who Stole It !

Who Stole It ! - about the game

Who Stole It! is an upcoming action, indie, and adventure title for PC that puts players into an asymmetric cops-and-robbers scenario set inside a darkened museum. Thieves work to snatch valuables and deliver them to a waiting getaway van while police officers patrol, monitor cameras, and make arrests. The game emphasizes teamwork, timing, and unique character abilities rather than combat, with arrests leading to jail time instead of permanent elimination.

Gameplay

Thieves move through museum halls, timing their movements around patrol routes to grab paintings, gems, and gold. Each successful delivery to the van scores points, but the temptation to grab one more item often leads to capture. Police players monitor CCTV feeds, flip power switches to create darkness or activate traps, and coordinate to corner suspects. Smoke bombs and decoys help thieves create distractions, while vents and security systems add layers of navigation for both sides. The core loop revolves around stealth for one team and pursuit for the other, with no permanent deaths to keep rounds light and repeatable.

Ten distinct characters bring specialized tools to every session. The Clown creates decoy copies that can mislead arrests and shift costs to the opposing side. The Ghost Kid extinguishes lights and summons ghostly distractions for cover. The Timekeeper can unlock prison cells to free captured teammates. The Wanderer relies entirely on movement and positioning without special powers. Additional roles include scouts for reconnaissance and officers focused on direct enforcement, allowing players to match abilities to preferred tactics.

Game Modes

The primary experience pits a team of thieves against a team of police in asymmetric rounds. Matches support online play with friends or solo sessions against AI-controlled opponents. Bots automatically fill empty slots in a lobby and step aside when real players join, so sessions can begin with as few as two participants. An optional chaos rule lets captured thieves switch to the police side for the remainder of the round, adding unpredictability to team balance.

Single-player options allow practice against AI thieves or police without requiring additional human players. In-game voice and text chat support coordination, with mute and kick tools available for hosts. Menus support sixteen languages to accommodate a broad audience.

Characters and Tools

Each of the ten characters offers distinct advantages that encourage experimentation across multiple nights. Power cuts plunge sections of the museum into darkness, fires create distractions that penalize the police if ignored, and the getaway van serves as the central objective for thieves. These elements combine with environmental features like vents and camera placements to reward observation and quick decisions.

Is It Worth Playing?

Who Stole It! targets players who enjoy asymmetric party games with clear role separation and light-hearted consequences. The bot backfill system and low player minimum make it accessible for small groups or solo practice, while the variety of character abilities supports different playstyles without requiring perfect coordination. As an unreleased title scheduled for September 2026, its appeal will depend on how well the described mechanics hold up in actual sessions, particularly the balance between stealth runs and pursuit tactics. Those drawn to cartoon-style heist scenarios with jailbreak mechanics and no lethal outcomes may find the setup engaging once it launches.
