EA Play on PlayStation

Three things. A catalogue of Electronic Arts games you download and play for as long as the subscription runs. A discount on digital purchases in the EA store, which also covers add ons and in game currency. And the option to play new EA titles before release for a limited time, keeping your progress if you buy the full version afterwards. That last one is the most practical in daily use, because it lets you try the yearly instalment of a sports series before paying full price.

Unlike on Xbox, where EA Play is part of the top Game Pass tier, on PlayStation it is bought on its own. The higher PS Plus tiers come with their own catalogue and do not include the EA one, so neither replaces the other. If you mostly play EA sports series, it is worth setting the annual cost of this subscription against the price of a single yearly instalment, because that is usually the sum that decides it.

The higher variant is computer only and differs on one fundamental point: it gives you full new EA games on release day rather than a time limited trial. If you buy one big EA release a year, it is worth working out the annual cost of the higher variant and setting it against the price of that single game. On consoles this variant does not exist, only the base tier is available there.

EA Play is bought separately for each platform and a code for one will not work on another. A subscription taken out on a console does not carry over to a computer, and the computer version works in the application where you bought it. So before buying, make sure you are taking the variant for the hardware you actually play on. Codes can also be tied to a region, which is why we only show offers available in your country.
