Generation Zero is an action and adventure game on PC that places players in the role of resistance fighters battling machines across the region of Östertörn. The Soviet Weapons Pack expands the arsenal with specialized equipment recovered from fallen Soviet soldiers who have entered the conflict in the northern areas.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on exploration, scavenging, and combat against FNIX machines. Survivors locate resources and weapons while navigating the landscape and engaging robotic threats. The Soviet Weapons Pack adds three new firearm models that fit into this loop by providing options for different combat ranges and tactics.
Mid-tier versions of the weapons appear in PLUNDRA storage boxes scattered throughout Östertörn. New players can access an initial set at the storage box near Iboholmen Church. Higher-tier versions require players to defeat machines and recover the weapons from their remains. Attachments such as the 2.7x RLG-7 Scope, Kotenok Extended Magazine, AT-WAD Extended Magazine, and specialized ammunition including LG-7V High-Explosive Rounds, 9x39mm Full Metal Jacket Ammo, and 9x39mm Armor-Piercing Ammo further customize performance.
Game Modes
Combat encounters vary based on player approach and weapon choice. The Kotenok Sniper Rifle functions as a semi-automatic designated marksman rifle capable of sustained accurate fire to control areas. The AT-WAD Assault Rifle offers silenced automatic fire suited to remaining undetected longer during engagements. The RLG-7 Rocket Launcher delivers high-explosive projectiles effective against armored or fortified machine positions.
The Soviet Presence
Soviet forces appear in small specialized units that establish temporary camps using movable defenses. These soldiers fight the machines yet operate with unclear motives regarding Swedish territory. Players encounter evidence of their activity through fallen soldiers and the weapons they carried, which the resistance can repurpose.
Is It Worth Playing?
The Soviet Weapons Pack supplies concrete additions to the available firearms and ammunition types. Players focused on varied combat options against machines will find direct value in the new sniper, assault, and rocket launcher models along with their attachments. The pack integrates into the existing scavenging and looting systems without requiring separate progression paths.
