RoadCraft is a construction simulation game centered on disaster recovery and infrastructure rebuilding. Players operate heavy machinery to restore areas hit by storms, floods, and other natural events, managing logistics and site preparation across large open maps.
Gameplay
The core loop involves scouting damaged regions, clearing debris, and executing construction tasks with specialized vehicles. Players handle material transport, route planning for automated supply convoys, and terrain modification using tools like bulldozers and rollers. New systems in the Foundations Expansion add pile driving to install concrete supports and concrete foundation laying, where mixers and pumpers deliver material to prepared sites. These steps support larger infrastructure projects such as ports, bridges, and energy facilities. Logistics play a key role, with players coordinating resource flows to keep workflows efficient across the map.
Seven new vehicles expand options for these tasks. The ALCES PL30C Pile Driver installs concrete piles for foundations. The Voltrack Mk11 Concrete Pumper pours concrete into prepared areas. The Voltrack MX mixes and delivers concrete supplies. The EPEC MAG240 magnetic crane handles metal debris and recyclables. The Derry Longhorn 4520 HH serves as a heavy hauler with an extended trailer. The Isonzo M1 Service Vehicle provides on-site resource access and vehicle support. The Aramatsu R1 Asphalt Roller prepares and finishes road surfaces. These machines integrate with existing fleets for concrete work and site development.
Game Modes
RoadCraft supports solo play and cooperative sessions with up to three additional players. In singleplayer, individuals manage all aspects of scouting, construction, and logistics across the maps. Co-op allows shared control of vehicles and tasks, enabling faster completion of complex projects like foundation installation or bridge repairs through divided responsibilities. Progression occurs through mission objectives that unlock further vehicles and map areas, with sandbox freedom to approach challenges in different sequences.
New Maps and Expansion Content
The Foundations Expansion adds two 4km² maps with distinct rebuilding themes. Spring Renewal is set in a Dutch-inspired agricultural region recovering from storms, where players repair roads, bridges, and facilities while shifting the area toward green energy infrastructure. Oasis Delta features desert and waterway environments damaged by a tornado, requiring port restoration, reconnection of isolated sites, and facility reconstruction amid sand and water challenges. Both maps introduce unique terrain and project types that emphasize the new foundation mechanics.
Is It Worth Playing?
RoadCraft appeals to players who enjoy methodical construction simulations and vehicle operation in large environments. The addition of foundation-building systems provides fresh progression layers focused on early-stage infrastructure work. Co-op sessions benefit from teamwork on logistics and heavy tasks, while solo play offers steady advancement through map objectives. Recent player feedback highlights satisfaction with vehicle variety and rebuilding satisfaction, though some note repetitive elements in extended sessions. The expansion integrates directly with the base game, extending the available content for those already engaged with the simulation style. It suits enthusiasts of detailed machinery handling and incremental site recovery projects.
