The CR400BF is one of the world’s fastest conventional high-speed trains in service today, with a cruising speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) and a top speed of 400 km/h (249 mph). Development of this high-speed locomotive started in 2012, with a goal of creating a new China Standardised EMU for China’s high-speed network.

The final design came in 2014, followed by the first production unit in June 2015. Successful tests on Datong–Xi'an Passenger Railway in November 2015 saw the new locomotive hit speeds of 385 km/h (239 mph) - the new locomotive (designation Fuxing), was ready for service. Several variants of the locomotive are now in operation, with the CR400BF accurately modelled here for you to enjoy.

The CR400BF with the striking golden/white livery was given the appropriate nickname ‘Golden Phoenix’.
