Chesapeake & Ohio Class K-2 2-8-2 Mikado locomotives power up your Trainz 2019 simulation with historical accuracy from the mid-1920s. These engines feature 63-inch drivers, 28 x 30 cylinders, 200 psi boiler pressure, and 63,467 pounds of tractive effort, plus a 287-square-foot firebox and 5,333 square feet of combined heating surface. Rail enthusiasts operate detailed replicas that capture the evolution of C&O's motive power. Custom E/Spec and cab views enhance the simulation experience, alongside crew figures, animated air hoses, animated bell, and PBR textures. Run these 1924 ALCO-built machines through authentic railroad scenarios on PC. Fans of precise locomotive simulation get the technical depth they crave.

The C&O railroad like many other railroads were buying the Mikado type locomotives and many improvements were made to the design. By the mid 1920s the C&O decided that its motive power was becoming outdated and started acquiring new 2-8-2s. Between 1924 and 1926 it bought 150 new Mikados from ALCO. The first class they purchased were fifty Class K-2, delivered in 1924 and carried road numbers 1160 through 1209.

The Class K2 had 63 diameter drivers, 28 x 30 cylinders, had a 200 psi boiler pressure and exerted 63,467 pounds. The Class K-2 firebox was 287 square feet. The evaporative heating surface was 4,160 square feet and with the superheater the combined heating surface was 5,333 square feet.
