About Aleatoria

Aleatoria - about the game

Aleatoria is a strategy indie casual game for PC that blends the familiar structure of a classic dice scoresheet with layered decision making and escalating power. Players progress through eight stages, each presenting a fresh scoresheet covering the standard categories from ones through sixes, three of a kind, full house, straights, and chance. Three fights per stage determine how those categories are used, with choices about what to score early directly affecting later options against the boss.

Gameplay

Every score combines a base value with bonuses and a multiplier, creating room for dramatic growth across a run. Modifier cards expand these numbers in varied ways, including retriggers that let effects activate again, permanent multipliers that stack over time, and category levels that improve with repeated use. A full house worth a modest amount in the opening stage can reach seven-digit totals by the final stages when chains align properly.

Twenty-four special dice replace the standard set and introduce new behaviors such as loaded results, wild faces, exploding dice that add extra rolls, chained effects, and cursed outcomes that carry risks. The cup functions like a deck, so selecting which dice to bring into each fight shapes the available options. Thirty-four bosses each impose a unique restriction, such as locking one category, limiting the number of rolls, or introducing a die that works against the player. Adapting to these rules or building a setup that circumvents them determines success in the third fight of each stage.

Runs last between twenty-five and forty minutes and feature seven starting sets, six difficulty grades, eight challenges, and thirty-six unlocks that reward repeated play. One hundred thirty modifier cards appear in five rarities, supported by twenty-four dice and seventeen consumables. Accessibility options include color-blind and reduced-motion modes along with support for German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian interfaces.

Game Modes

Standard play follows the eight-stage structure with three fights per stage and a boss encounter every third fight. Daily runs use a shared seed that produces identical conditions for all players on the same day, accompanied by a local leaderboard for comparison. Fully seeded runs ensure the same seed always generates the same sequence of events, allowing consistent practice or competition with others.

Challenges and difficulty grades provide additional structure for players seeking specific constraints or increased tension. Unlocks tied to these modes expand the available starting sets and cards over time, encouraging multiple completions to access new combinations.

Progression and Customization

Modifier cards form the core of long-term growth. Lower-rarity cards establish basic synergies while higher-rarity options enable complex chains that multiply scores exponentially. Special dice further customize each run, with players deciding which ones to equip before fights begin. Consumables add one-time effects that can turn a difficult boss encounter around or accelerate scoring in earlier stages.

The combination of fixed scoresheet categories and variable modifiers creates consistent decision points. Players must weigh immediate gains against future potential, especially when a category used early cannot be scored again in the same stage. Boss rules force reevaluation of standard strategies, rewarding those who prepare flexible setups rather than rigid ones.

Is It Worth Playing?

Aleatoria suits players who enjoy strategic dice games with meaningful choices about resource allocation and timing. The short run length makes it accessible for sessions between other activities, while the depth of card synergies and dice effects supports longer engagement across multiple attempts. Accessibility features broaden its appeal, and the seeded daily runs add a light competitive element without requiring online play. Those who appreciate systems where small decisions compound into large outcomes will find the core loop rewarding, particularly when experimenting with different starting sets and difficulty grades to unlock new content.
