About Bloomline

Bloomline - about the game

Bloomline is an indie casual simulation game built as a single-player desktop companion for Windows. Players tend a growing garden that sits directly above the taskbar, with clicks passing through everywhere outside the soil strip so work stays uninterrupted.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on watering soil to gather energy, then spending that energy to shape individual plants. A watering can pours over the soil line, and energy lets users raise stems, add branches, or swell buds until they bloom. Scissors allow pruning any growth, returning the spent energy for reuse elsewhere.

Plants produce glowing seeds once they ripen. Collecting those seeds unlocks new species from a store that offers fourteen additional varieties, along with fertilizer that doubles growth rates, seed output, and soil accumulation for a full day. Each species behaves differently: mimosas fold leaves near the cursor, flytraps close on visiting flies, bamboo produces sound, and bellflowers emit notes. Dandelions release seeds when blown, lavender attracts butterflies, tulips close at night, and four o'clocks glow softly after dark.

Healthy plants generate extra soil that can be sprinkled from a sack to extend the garden leftward along the taskbar. Color wheels let users tint each species freely. The garden runs on the system clock, advancing while closed, so short check-ins between tasks or longer focused sessions both advance progress. Wilted plants recover fully after watering, with nothing permanently lost.

Game Modes

Bloomline operates as a single-player idle simulation without separate named modes. The experience blends active tending with passive growth, letting players switch between hands-on shaping and background progress at any time. Hotkeys support Do Not Disturb and garden hiding for full-screen focus or streaming needs, and a low-power mode reduces resource use when the garden is still.

Transparency keeps the garden layered over other windows, while click-through behavior ensures it never blocks desktop interaction outside the soil area. A green-screen option aids streamers who want the garden visible without showing the underlying interface.

Key Features and Mechanics

Fourteen plant species each carry unique idle behaviors that respond to cursor movement or time of day. Soil expansion creates space for more plants without fixed limits beyond available soil. Fertilizer and seed collection form the main progression paths, while color customization adds visual variety across the garden strip.

The system stays light on hardware and supports extended idle periods without constant input. Forgotten plants simply pause rather than degrade permanently, preserving all prior effort.

Who It Is For

Bloomline suits anyone looking for a relaxing single-player simulation that fits alongside daily computer use. Its incremental growth and low-pressure design appeal to players who enjoy casual nature themes and desktop companions rather than intense sessions or competitive elements.

Is It Worth Playing?

The game delivers a focused, low-demand experience centered on gentle plant interaction and steady visual expansion. Its idle mechanics and desktop integration make it suitable for short daily visits or longer customization sessions without requiring dedicated playtime blocks. Players who value cozy, single-player simulation titles with passive progression will find the verified systems align closely with that preference. No multiplayer or seasonal content appears in the available details, keeping the scope firmly on personal garden building.
