About Crumple Toss

Crumple Toss - about the game

Crumple Toss is a casual indie game for PC built around a single, precise action: throwing a crumpled paper wad into a bin. The entire experience revolves around that throw, with timing and physics determining success across hand-crafted obstacle courses.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on pulling back the paper wad by hand and releasing it toward the target bin. A timer tracks how long the player lines up the shot, so hesitation directly increases the final time. Success depends on instinctive aiming rather than prolonged calculation. Each throw follows consistent physics with no scripting or assistance, letting the flight path respond only to the environment and the player's input.

Levels feature hand-drawn surfaces made from paper, cardboard, wood, and carpets. Obstacles include windmills that knock the wad aside, fans that lift it, magnets that alter its course, trampolines, spikes, and various moving parts. Every stage functions like a compact workshop filled with one or two unique mechanical tricks. Players can complete these stages faster on repeat attempts as they learn the exact timing and trajectory needed for each setup.

Game Modes

The primary experience consists of progressing through the built-in levels using the throwing mechanic. The level editor serves as an integrated creation tool rather than a separate add-on. The included stages were constructed with the same editor, giving players access to the full set of platforms, shapes, colors, backgrounds, machines, and moving elements. Any level created this way must be beaten by its author twice before it counts as complete, with proof stored inside the file itself. Completed levels export as a single line of text for easy sharing with others.

Progression and Rewards

Each successful throw awards a random sticker drawn from that level's dedicated album. Stickers appear for reaching the bin rather than for speed records, so every player who completes a throw receives one. Duplicates accumulate as counts instead of being discarded. Completing an entire album requires persistence because certain stickers appear only rarely, with the final one reserved for the most consistent performers.

Personal records receive automatic preservation. After a successful run the game captures the full win screen, including the earned sticker and any celebratory elements, and stores it as an image file in a dedicated folder, one per level.

Audio and Accessibility

Pleasant background music plays throughout sessions. Players can change tracks at any time through the settings menu or with a single key press to match their preferred mood. The game launches with support for twelve languages, and because no dialogue or voice lines appear, the experience remains fully accessible regardless of language selection.

Is It Worth Playing?

Crumple Toss suits players who enjoy short, repeatable physics challenges and creative level design. The emphasis on quick instinctive throws combined with an editor that ships with the core content makes it a self-contained package for anyone interested in precision timing and community-created stages. Those who appreciate minimalist mechanics paired with tangible progression through sticker collection and personal record images will find repeated value in refining their throws across the available workshops. The absence of spoken content and broad language support further widens its appeal for casual sessions on PC.
