About The Sky Project: Land of Noris

The Sky Project: Land of Noris - about the game

The Sky Project: Land of Noris is a single-player RPG and adventure title that blends monster collection with strategic combat and permanent consequences. Players take on the role of Kael in a hand-drawn 2D world built around mana creatures known as Noris, where forging contracts, managing resources, and navigating loss form the core loop.

Gameplay

Combat unfolds in strategic 3v3 multi-turn battles. Each Nori starts with two fixed abilities and gains a random third skill each turn, which opens pathways for shifting tactics and unexpected synergies. The shared mana pool across the entire team forces careful resource allocation, as every decision affects survival chances. Permadeath applies directly: when a Nori reaches zero health it is lost permanently, leaving only a grave to visit and a reduced roster for future encounters.

Evolution and customization deepen the system. Noris grow through level-up choices and evolve into stronger forms that alter appearance, boost stats, and unlock new abilities. Over 300 abilities exist across the roster, alongside more than 40 equippable relics that provide passive effects on both combat and exploration. Six creature types, including legendary and alternate-color variants, encourage experimentation with type matchups and team composition.

Game Modes

The experience centers on a continuous single-player campaign without separate competitive or co-op modes. Progression ties exploration, story advancement, and combat into one flow. Players move through interconnected planes, complete objectives, recruit NPCs into factions when opportunities arise, and tackle five major bosses plus ancient beings. Side activities such as dungeon delving, relic hunting, and trade systems support the main journey rather than branching into distinct modes.

World and Exploration

Four stacked planes Celestia, Noreth, The Depths, and Infernia create a vertical structure filled with cities, villages, metropolises, and dungeons. More than 250 NPCs populate these areas, each with personal stories, professions, and faction ties that players can engage through quests or alliances. Over 2,000 years of layered history surface through environmental details, scars from past wars, and character dialogue. Relics and capture items reward thorough searching while adding new combat options.

Is It Worth Playing?

The game targets players who enjoy monster-collector RPGs that incorporate Nuzlocke-style risk and meaningful team management. Its hand-drawn art, emphasis on permanent loss, and layered plane design offer a distinct take on the genre for those seeking challenge over casual collection. As a title still in development with a planned Steam release, interested players can follow updates through official channels to assess its final form once available. The combination of strategic 3v3 battles, evolution systems, and interconnected world exploration provides clear appeal for fans of deliberate, high-stakes adventures.
