About Tincha

Tincha - about the game

Onit Shurebady, the mayor of Tincha, has a permit for you and a very empty street. Everything you build there starts as a prize, won at a claw machine or popped out of a gachapon capsule.

You play claw machines and gachapon to win characters, equipment and construction blocks. With those prizes you open a coffee shop, a bakery or an ice cream shop, hire the characters you collected as staff and decorate the place the way you like. Each store grows with you as you go, and a pizzeria and a pet shop are on the way.

The city is shared. Your stores sit next to everyone else's, you can walk into theirs and leave a like, and we all climb the same leaderboard. I'm working on letting your characters visit other players' stores as guests, which will bring rewards for both sides.

How it plays

The machines are the fun part, but they are only half of the game. The other half is working out which character goes where. Each one has traits and stats you can improve, and item cards change what they are good at. A store's rating depends on the staff you put in it, how it's built and how it's decorated, and getting those to work together takes some thinking. Honestly, that's the part I enjoy the most.

A session can be short. Log in, pick up your daily reward, play a couple of machines, move some staff around. Nothing falls apart if you skip a few days.

About money

Tincha is free and you can get quite far without paying anything. Credits for the machines come from daily rewards, tasks and the leaderboard. From level 10 on there is also a second currency, blue diamonds, which you can buy, and a few machines use it. What those machines give can also be won for free, it just shows up less often.

Being free doesn't mean it costs nothing to run. Every month there are servers, storage and tools to pay for, and whatever comes in from diamonds goes straight back into the game. I really appreciate every bit of support that helps keep Tincha alive. I'd rather tell you all this here than have you find out later.

Who makes it

I'm Juan Albanesi, an Argentinian developer living in Sweden. I've been making games since I got my first Commodore 64. I've been working on Tincha for more than four years, and the idea behind it was pretty simple: I wanted the fun of playing claw machines without ending up with boxes and boxes of figures at home. Been there, done that :D I make it alone, it's in early access, and some things are still rough while others are missing. I update it often, and a lot of what's in the game today is there because someone played it and told me what they thought.

Tincha also runs in the browser at tincha.se, and both versions play in the same city.

If you'd like to help

The game is available in English, Spanish, German, French and Swedish, and I'm sure some of those translations could be better. If you speak one of them and something sounds off, or you'd like to bring Tincha to a language it doesn't have yet, I'd really appreciate the help. The same goes for anything else: bug reports, ideas, art, music, or just telling me what you think. Come say hi on Discord.
