PS Plus July 2026 Game Catalog: Avatar, Rise of the Ronin

Sony just dropped the full PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup for July, and it's a properly stacked one. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Rise of the Ronin lead a pack of seven catalog games, with two classics on top.

The announcement went up on the PlayStation Blog today, right on schedule. Most of the lineup lands on Tuesday, July 21, though Sony keeps experimenting with staggered weekly drops in the US, UK and Japan. More on that in a second.

What's coming to Extra

Here's everything joining the Extra game catalog this month:

  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS5)
  • Rise of the Ronin (PS5)
  • Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS5)
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind (PS5, PS4)
  • Dying Light (PS4)
  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5)
  • Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5)

Avatar is the obvious headliner. Massive's first person trip to Pandora is basically Far Cry with floating mountains, and it's still one of the prettiest things you can run on a PS5. Rise of the Ronin might be the smarter pick though. Team Ninja's open world take on 19th century Japan got a lukewarm reception back in 2024, but the combat carries that Nioh DNA and the game is a lot better than its scores suggested. For free? Easy yes.

Don't sleep on Citizen Sleeper 2 either (sorry). If you like narrative RPGs built around dice rolls and hard choices, it's one of the best around. And Dying Light rounds things out for PS4 holdouts, still the king of zombie parkour.

Premium gets two classics, not one

Sony has mostly stuck to a single classic per month lately, so this is a nice surprise. Premium members get both Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy on July 21.

Psi-Ops is the 2004 Midway shooter where your psychic powers run through a real physics engine. Ripping a guard off a ledge with telekinesis felt incredible back then and honestly still does. Indigo Prophecy, known as Fahrenheit in Europe, is Quantic Dream's paranormal murder mystery from 2005. Janky in places? Sure. But that opening scene in the diner remains an all-timer.

Dates, waves and what's leaving

For most of the world, everything above unlocks on July 21. In the US, UK and Japan the rollout is spread across three waves instead: Rise of the Ronin went live there today (July 16 in Japan), Avatar, Firefighting Simulator and both classics arrive July 21, and the rest follows on July 28.

The catch: twelve games leave the catalog on July 21, including Risk of Rain 2 and Tropico 6. If either has been sitting in your backlog, this is your week.
