The Steam Autumn Sale typically starts around November 27 and runs through December 4, lasting about one week. The timing deliberately coincides with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, making it part of the broader holiday shopping season. Valve usually confirms exact dates a few days in advance. This sale bridges the gap between the Summer Sale and the Winter Sale, offering a significant discount event for those who cannot wait until December.

The Autumn Sale is notable for being the first major event after the busy fall release season. Games that launched in September, October and early November often see their first meaningful Steam discounts here. This makes it an excellent time to pick up titles from the autumn release wave at reduced prices. The sale also features the start of the Steam Awards nomination process, where players nominate their favorite games for end-of-year awards. Combined with Black Friday deals from other stores, this period offers some of the most competitive pricing of the entire year.

The Autumn Sale overlaps with Black Friday promotions across the entire retail landscape. Third-party key stores, authorized retailers and keyshops all run their own Black Friday events simultaneously. This creates intense competition and often results in the lowest prices of the season. XD.deals compares all these sources in real time, so you can see exactly where the cheapest offer is for any given title. Sometimes keyshop prices beat the Steam Store significantly during this period.

For games released in the autumn months, the Autumn Sale often offers their first significant discount, and these prices may not improve much during the Winter Sale just a few weeks later. For older titles, the Winter Sale sometimes offers slightly deeper discounts, but the difference is usually small. Check the historical low price on each game page. If the Autumn Sale price matches the historical low, it is a safe buy. Our price alert system can help you track whether a deeper discount appears later.

Steam hosts four major sales annually. The Steam Spring Sale opens the year in mid-March for about one week. The Steam Summer Sale runs from late June to mid-July for two weeks. The Autumn Sale takes place in late November. The Steam Winter Sale closes out the year from mid-December through early January. Beyond these, Steam runs themed festivals and publisher events throughout the year. For current offers, browse all Steam deals or compare Steam key prices.

Focus on recent releases from the fall season, as these are likely seeing their first discounts. Set up price alerts ahead of time. Compare every purchase with third-party key prices since Black Friday competition often drives keyshop prices below Steam's own discounts. Check the price history chart on each game page to verify the discount is genuine. If a game is at its historical low, it is a strong buy. Do not forget that the Winter Sale follows just a few weeks later, so if you are unsure about a title, you may have another chance soon.

The Steam Autumn Sale runs for approximately one week, typically from late November through early December. It overlaps with the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping period. All Steam sale prices stay fixed for the entire duration, so you can take your time comparing offers. Many third-party retailers also run their own Black Friday promotions during this period, creating intense competition that benefits buyers. Use XD.deals to compare Steam Store prices with keyshop deals for the absolute lowest price.

The Steam Autumn Sale and Black Friday overlap but are not the same thing. The Autumn Sale is Valve's own seasonal event on the Steam Store, while Black Friday is a broader retail phenomenon that affects all stores. During this period, authorized retailers like Fanatical and Humble Store run their own Black Friday promotions, and keyshop marketplaces offer competitive pricing as well. The result is the most competitive pricing period of the fall season. XD.deals aggregates deals from all these sources simultaneously, making it easy to find the cheapest PC game deals regardless of which store or event is offering them.
