You wake up strapped to a table under a sheet. A woman in scrubs is getting ready to examine you. She thinks you're a body, and her job is to make sure.
Your body is the controller. Hold your breath when her instrument touches your chest. Let your arm hang dead when she lifts it. Hold a dead stare when she shines a torch in your eye. Every check has its own rule, and getting it wrong is something she can see, feel or hear.
She notices what she's looking at. A small box tells you where her eyes are. When something's off she stops, stares, and checks: a palm flat on your stomach, the strap pulled tighter, the hammer held over you. She remembers what she saw.
Every time she turns away, you get a few seconds. Flatten your thumb, roll the buckle, slip a pin, hook a clip off her tray. One mistake while she's watching and you lose the opening.
And you're not the only thing breathing. Something under your ribs has started to move on its own, and you have to hold it down without her seeing your hand.
Please Remain Dead is a first-person horror game about lying perfectly still while a tired, careful professional tries to prove you're not alive.
