Best Steam Deals This Week (July 20 - 26, 2026)

Last week we called the Steam discount page oddly classy. This week it got loud: Civilization VI at 90% off, three Resident Evils, Hades, Deep Rock Galactic and a Mortal Kombat that costs less than a sandwich. Here are the 25 best Steam deals of the week, discounts up to 90%, prices from 0.85 GBP, and over half the list is level with the cheapest price we have on record.

Highlights of the Week

Sid Meier's Civilization VI leads at 90% off, 4.99 GBP for the base game, exactly where it bottomed out the last time it went this deep. Civ VII has been out for a year and a half and still asks full price, so this is the cheap door into the one-more-turn problem. Fair warning though: base game only. Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm are the expansions that turn Civ VI into the version everyone raves about, and neither is in this deal.

Resident Evil 2 at 80% off is the best thing on the Capcom shelf. The remake still looks sharper than games shipping this year, Leon and Claire give you two genuinely different trips through the same police station, and 96% of 119K reviewers back that up. 6.99 GBP is not a price, it is a rounding error. Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village both land at 8.74 GBP, and if you have played neither, start with Village. The castle chapter alone earns the money back, even if the final stretch turns into a shooting gallery.

GRIS falls to 2.55 GBP, runs about three hours, has no combat and no way to die, and looks like somebody animated a watercolour set. Same mood but ten times longer: Spiritfarer at 85% off (3.74 GBP), a cozy management game about ferrying the dead that will absolutely make you cry over a hedgehog. We did not see that coming either.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

Straight buys: Civilization VI, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Village and shapez at 0.85 GBP, all four matching the lowest Steam price in our logs. Mortal Kombat 11 at 3.99 GBP joins them, because there is not much to argue about with 90% off a fighting game that ships a full story mode. Hades at 6.29 GBP has been hovering around that number for a while, and at 98% positive from 258K players there is nothing left to weigh up. Deep Rock Galactic at 7.49 GBP gets the same nod, provided you have three friends who actually show up. Rock and stone.

Two we would leave alone. Frostpunk at 3.74 GBP looks fine at 85% until you remember it has gone deeper before, and with the Frostpunk 1886 remake aimed at 2027 the original still has room to fall. theHunter: Call of the Wild at 3.35 GBP is exactly double the best price we have logged for it, so unless the itch is urgent, sit on it. And if Civilization V at 4.99 GBP caught your eye, we have seen it for less than half that, and Civ VI at the top of this list is the one we would install first anyway.

CODE VEIN at 90% off (3.99 GBP) is the odd one out and we are fine with that. Anime Dark Souls with a partner who does half your fighting, 84% positive, and roughly twenty hours of ridiculous hair physics. At this price it does not need to be great.
